Whats your motive for giving to the poor or to the needy? for attention in public, too glory in yourself, self exhaltation or is it truly because you genuinely love the Lord and his creatures and by helping those that are weaker you help in complimenting the body of Christ that functions more as a unit than as individual parts?
If any man should boast or glory let him glory or boast in The Lord about what The Lord has done and that is why the bible says below in:
1 Corinthians 13:3
Even if I dole out all that I have [to the poor in providing] food, and if I surrender my body to be burned or in order that I may glory, but have not love (God’s love in me), I gain nothing.
And St. Paul reiterates below the essence of complimenting each other to fulfil the needs of the church of Christ
1 Corinthians 12:25
So that there should be no division or discord or lack of adaptation [of the parts of the body to each other], but the members all alike should have a mutual interest in and care for one another.
My brothers and sisters may the spirit of love be our target always and we would have fulfilled all the works of the law put together in Jesus name
